Sourya: Evans was rightly declared the player of the match for his stunning and clever variations that cleaned up half the opposition. His team has attained some semblance of pride if not anything else after this win. The Hurricanes are out after faltering post a great start to the season. The Stars are still alive as a result. Catch all the action from the next game as we bring it to you here. For now though, it is goodbye from me, Sourya Chowdhury and my fellow commentators Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and Nikhil Kulkarni.
Sourya: Earlier, having chosen to field first, the Hobart side began brilliantly, picking up the first four wickets quickly, but a great partnership between Webster and Harvey revived the innings and gave them something to play for. In the end, they did enough for the bowlers to turn the screws and clinch a win.
Sourya: The Hurricanes were set a target by the Renegades and they would have believed they can get over the line and reach the finals with the firepower they had. However, they never really got going in the chase with Zak Evans (5/33), in particular, in dazzling form with the ball for the Melbourne side. He picked up a five-for while both Imad Wasim and Peter Hatzoglou also choking the batsmen with their slow bowling. Dawid Malan, one of the best in the business, laboured to a 36-ball 34 and they kept on losing wickets at crucial junctures to see their hopes of a finals spot slip away.
Sourya: Another classic BBL game has come to an end here at the MCG and its repercussions will be felt across the table. The bottom team, Melbourne Renegades have upset the playoff-chasing Hobart Hurricanes by 11 runs to knock them out of the tournament and finish on a high.

19.6 Zak Evans to Sandeep Lamichhane
1 finishes off with a single, low full toss on the stumps, Lamichhane works this down deep midwicket for a single, the dream is over for the Hurricanes, theoretically still in with a chance but practically impossible
19.5 Zak Evans to Riley Meredith
W WICKET!!! banged in short, Meredith tries to evade the pull, ends up getting a top edge straight to the keeper and that's a five wicket haul for Zak Evans
Sourya: The Hurricanes will be gutted today to have not managed to chase this down when everything was on the line.
19.4 Zak Evans to Riley Meredith
4 FOUR!! drills this full delivery on the stumps past the cover fielder and finds the boundary, good shot from Meredith first ball
