Arya: So that is it from the commentary box today. A tiring day for me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my co-commentator Akshay Bhide. Till the next time, tata and take care
Rashid Khan is the Man of the Match for his all-round exploits
Arya: Inglis was dismissed by Wes Agar while Daniel Worrall accounted for the dangerous Jason Roy. Rashid Khan’s introduction put the Scorchers’ under all sorts of pressure and wickets kept tumbling one after the other. Danny Briggs and Rashid Khan spun a web in the middle overs and 4 wickets between them. Liam Livingstone waged a lone battle for a while but the target was way too much in the end. They were eventually bowled out for 94, thus handing a 71 runs victory to the Strikers. Daniel Worrall, Peter Siddle, Rashid Khan, Wes Agar and Danny Briggs all chipped in with two wickets each.
Arya: Perth Scorchers got off to a much-needed brisk start which the doctor had ordered for them. Jos Inglis and Jason Roy looked in complete command and struck some exceptional shots during their brief partnership of 35 runs which came up in just 19 deliveries. However from there on it was just a procession and the Scorchers totally lost the plot and kept losing wickets on a consistent basis.
Arya: Despite losing some quick wickets, Rashid Khan turned the game in the last few overs with some lusty hitting. Two of his helicopter shots would have made the original inventor of the shot MS Dhoni proud of it. His cameo of 29 runs came in just 13 deliveries which included a four and 3 sixes. For the Perth Scorcher, Jhye Richardson was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets while Andrew Tye and Mitchell Marsh chipped in with a couple.
Arya: After a rollicking start, the Strikers were put under pressure in the middle and the late overs until a late blitz from Rashid Khan propelled them to a score of 165 in their allotted 20 overs. Salt’s wicket brought about a procession of wickets and the run flow was also curtailed quite a bit. Mitchell Marsh starred for the Scorchers as he bowled brilliantly and put the brakes on the Adelaide Strikers.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was the Ashton Turner who won the toss and put the Strikers in. It was a dream start for the Adelaide Strikers as they raced off 57 in 7 overs before the dismissal of Jack Weatherald. Philip Salt in particular looked in ominous touch and took on the Scorchers’ bowlers with utter disdain. He struck some exceptional blows during his knock of 51 of 31 deliveries which was studded with 4 fours and 4 sixes.
Arya: So it turns out to be a rather easy victory for the Adelaide Strikers as they storm past Perth Scorchers by 71 runs to register their 3rd win of the tournament in their 5th encounter. Batting first they posted a competitive 165 on the board courtesy a fine half-century by Philip Salt and a whirlwind knock towards the end by Rashid Khan. With the ball in hand they were all over the Scorchers and never really allowed them to get into the match barring the opening partnership. Eventually they won by a huge margin of 71 runs.
15.2 Daniel Worrall to Fawad Ahmed
W BOWLED EM!!! That's the final nail in the coffin. Full and straight, Fawad goes for a big swing and misses and the ball crashes on the stumps. With this, Strikers beat Scorchers by 71 runs
15.1 Daniel Worrall to Jason Behrendorff
1 A yorker on middle, Behrendorff jams this to covers for a quick run. Direct hit and he was a goner

14.6 Peter Siddle to Fawad Ahmed
0 Full on middle, Fawad keeps it out by blocking it into the on side
14.5 Peter Siddle to Andrew Tye
W OUT!!! Nails the yorker on the stumps, Tye goes for a big swing and the ball sneaks under his bat onto the stumps. The stumps lit up and Strikers one wicket away from the victory
14.4 Peter Siddle to Jason Behrendorff
1 Full on the stumps, Behrendorff pushes it to mid off and sets off for a quick run. Worrall gathers the ball and has a shy at the stumps but misses. Behrendorff was a goner if that had hit the stumps
14.3 Peter Siddle to Jason Behrendorff
0 A perfect yorker on the stumps and Behrendorff digs it out into the off side
14.2 Peter Siddle to Jason Behrendorff
