See you guys tomorrow. Till then, Goodnight! It was fun presenting you this match on the account of OneCricket. This was me, Arjun Bhalla along with my co-commentator Akshay Bhide. Ta-da!
Tomorrow is going to be a big day for the tournament. We can see one another team qualifying for the playoffs. Tomorrow is Saturday, and we will have two games tomorrow. The Big three of the IPL 2020 will be playing tomorrow. In the afternoon, Delhi will be taking on the first qualified team of the season - Mumbai Indians, and later in the day, team Bangalore will be locking horns against SRH to become the second team to qualify.
The tournament is getting interesting day after day, match after match. We are in the last week before the playoffs and we only have one team who has qualified for the knockouts.
Ben Stokes, Man of the Match: I think when you are in a position like we are, you have nothing to lose. We are still hanging in. That is pleasing. The sixes are always pleasing. I went in the same mentality like I did against MI. Wanted to go hard with the new ball. We had a decent break from the last game. We normally have a quick turnaround. I cut down on the bowling part in the break to remain fresh.
Ben Stokes wins the Man of the Match award for his quickfire 50, two wickets, and a catch to his name.
Steve Smith, RR skipper: Ebbed and flowed. But would have been great to win a few in the middle. But it is about peaking at the right time. We still need to do our bit, We have different plans as to who goes in after who gets out. Gave Buttler a chance to bat at number 5. Nice to get over the line comfortably. Helps the NRR. The last two games he has been exceptional. Has good innovation, Hits the ball in weird areas. He is a valauble player. One of the best in the world. You are always talking to players and try to get the best of them. We know if he spends time in the middle, he will come good. Couple of games tomorrow, we will be matching them closely and then good to go day after.
Robin Uthappa: Much needed win, we've been peaking at the right time. We have found the right combination as well. It was still holding just a touch. It's been inconsistent. team motto is that we can win from anywhere in any situation. From one perspective if you see we got nothing to lose, so just go for it. At the same time we got to be cognizant about taking just one game at a time. Just don't worry about having a perfect game, give your best and you should be on the right side most times.
KL Rahul | losing captain: It was a horrible toss to lose to be honest. It did get very easy to bat later on. There was a lot of dew in the second half and that made it a bit tough for the bowlers to grip the ball. When you're operating with two leg spinners like we are, it does make things difficult. Don't think we bowled that badly but need to operate better with the wet ball. The dew has been unpredictable this season. You can't prepare for it but need to adapt to it. To get to that score on a sticky wicket was nice. Chris did well to bat right through. The season has been such that nothing has come easy. We've had to work hard for every point. No surprise that it has come down to the last game.
Royals' net run-rate is poor but this win has made it certain that the fourth team would go in the playoffs with 14 points. Therefore, the race is still open for KXIP, SRH, KKR, and the Royals.
They had a huge total of 186 runs to chase in front of KXIP who were high on momentum. They were coming in the games after beating RCB, MI. DC, SRH, and KKR. Everyone wrote off RR before the match and they have answered every critic in some style. World's best all-rounder Ben Stokes gave RR a flying start in the powerplay. He was dismissed in the sixth over after scoring his fifty in no time. Sanju came in at Number 3 and scored some quick runs with Uthappa. The duo scored 51 runs together but then Robin got out smacking Ashwin. Rajasthan was two down but they were scoring at a run-rate of more than 10 rpo. The next batter was captain Smith who sailed the ship away from KL Rahul's Kings. Firstly, he snitched a quick 34 run partnership with Sanju and when Sanju got runout, he finished off the game with Jos Buttler. In the end, it was an easy win for RR after their all-round performance.
What a chase, this has been. Rajasthan Royals have 12 points and they are still alive and kicking here in UAE in the Dream11 IPL. RR has broken the 5 matches winning streak of the Kings. What a game we have witnessed. Cruising the team who was coming in with 5 straight wins to their name. Kudos to Rajasthan! Kudos to Big-Ben! Kudos to Samson! Kudos to Jofra! It was a sensational team effort by the Royal here in Abu Dhabi.
Rajasthan Royals wins the clash against KXIP by 7 wickets and they had 15 balls still in hand.
