Like always it was a pleasure bringing the live commentary and match updates for you. Till the next time, adieus from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my co-commentator Akshay Bhide. Stay tuned for tomorrow's clash between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals which is a must-win game for both the teams. A humdinger on our hands yet again.
So Mumbai Indians officially becomes the first team in the tournament to qualify for the playoffs. The race for the playoffs is heating up and all the rest of the matches are of utmost value from here. KKR needs to win their final match to harbour hopes of going through but that still might not be enough. Nonetheless, it was a cracking match and eventually CSK prevails.
Ruturaj Gaikwad: Feeling good, pretty confident. thankfully they've both come in wins. I've backed myself because both innings I got out when the situations were a little tough. I knew if i get the opportunity to open and get my time, I would do well. So the confidence was there. Covid has made me tough. Our captain always says to face any situation with a smile. It was difficult but I tried to do it. It made me stay in the present. I do work hard in the gym and I have a six pack and all [smiles].
MS Dhoni, CSK skipper: I think it was one game in which the climax went in our favour. Lot of credit to the guys. This season he has been fantastic. He has been the only one in our team who has scored in the death overs. He needed somebody else and that would have been good for us. We want to give games to people who haven't played. Rituraj has shown the talent that he is. He came in and got positive with Covid. We didn't have much time to have a look at him. He is one of the talented youngsters going around. He is not someone who speaks a lot. Once you go inside, you are the only one handling the pressure. When we made him play the first game, he stepped out and got out. But one ball is never enough. I think it is very exciting how he has grabbed his chances. It is very important to be relevant in the tournament. It was very important for us to give it our best. We are not in a position to qualify for the next stage but we have had a glimpse of people who can play for us in the coming seasons.
Ravindra Jadeja: I was hitting the ball well in the nets and kept thinking about that and I managed to do that in the match. We (me and Curran) were talking about going after the bowlers, and in the last 12 balls you don't think much. Just see the ball and hit the ball. I was looking to not loose my shape, and I knew if they bowled in my arc, I could hit a six. Winning every game always means a lot to us.
Eoin Morgan, KKR skipper: I think we played really well there, just on the wrong side of the toss. The dew from about the 8th over was really challenging. We improved on our batting (as compared to the previous games). Our bowlers absolutely gave it their everything. We have one game left, and still have a very little chance. We felt we were right in the game (at the halfway stage). Nitish Rana kicked on and showed his class once again. It was actually a good day for us with the bat. They (Narine and Varun) are two fantastic spinners. I can't fault anyone's effort tonight. He (Nagarkoti) didn't have enough runs to defend. He's a young guy, he will take it on the chin and move forward. Looking forward to the next game against Royals.
Ruturaj Gaikwad is the Cred Powerplayer of the Match.
Nitish Rana gets the Unacademy Lets Crack it Sixes Award
Ravindra Jadeja is the Altroz Super Striker of the match.
Nitish Rana is the Dream11 Game Changer of the Match. He bagged 117 fantasy points today.
Earlier in the day it was MS Dhoni who won the toss and opted to chase. KKR began well with a steady 53 runs partnership but things started falling apart in the middle overs as they lost wickets in a cluster. The decision of sending Rinku Singh ahead of Eoin Morgan was simply baffling to say the least. Nitish Rana played a sensational knock for KKR as he smashed the CSK bowlers all around the park during his blazing knock of 87 of 61 deliveries. In the final few overs, Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik provided the late blitz which eventually propelled them to a score of 172/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
Ambati Rayudu also looked in great touch during his breezy knock of 38 of 20 deliveries. By the time the two was there, the match was well in the grasp of CSK. Pat Cummins provided the much-needed wicket of Rayudu and from there on, KKR bowlers came back strongly and applied enormous pressure by taking wickets at regular intervals. Lockie Ferguson conceded 20 runs in the penultimate over as Jadeja looked in ominous touch. Eventually, he sealed the deal in the final over after belting back to back sixes of Kamlesh Nagarkoti.
Chasing a target of 173, CSK started off well and the main architect in building the innings was youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad who carried on from where he left against RCB and slammed yet another half-century. He looked in sublime touch and oozed class during his phenomenal knock of 72 of 53 deliveries.
So what a match. Hasn't yet sunk in for me given the fact that I was backing my city to come out triumphant. However, it wasn't to be in the end as a Ravindra Jadeja blitz helped CSK conquer KKR and eventually won it by 6 wickets in the final delivery of the match. With 7 required of the final two deliveries of the match, Jaddu whacked back to back sixes off the bowling of Kamlesh Nagarkoti to hand CSK a sensational victory. Although the victory won't make any difference as far as CSK's qualification chances are concerned it has definitely jeopardised KKR's chances
19.6 Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Ravindra Jadeja
6 SMACKED!!!! Absolutely Smacked by Sir Ravindra Jadeja. A tad short on the stumps, Jadeja pulls this over mid wicket fence for a MAXIMUM. WHAT A FINISH by RAVINDRA JADEJA. Sensational innings from Jadeja. He shows the dugout his name in the back of the shirt and he deserves the applause. CSK beat KKR by 6 wickets
19.5 Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Ravindra Jadeja
6 SIX!!!! TAKE A BOW JADEJA. In the slot on the stumps and Jadeja has taken the bones out of this. Muscles this over mid wicket for a huge SIX. What a BLOW this is in intense pressure situation. 1 from 1. Are we up for another SUPER OVER?
19.4 Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Ravindra Jadeja
0 Again bowls this wide and Jadeja tries to cut this and the ball sneaks under his bat. A precious dot ball 7 needed from 2

19.2 Kamlesh Nagarkoti to Sam Curran
2 Again on a length outside off, Curran slaps this wide of long off for a couple. 8 needed from 4. Will Sam Curran find a boundary?
