So thats all from here folks. I won't take more time as the other game between RCB and CSK has already commenced, so go fast and tune into the coverage of the evening match, Till the next time, tata from me Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my co-commentator Karthik Raj. It was yet again a pleasure bringing the live commentary and match updates for you. Stay tuned
Dinesh Karthik, captain and Man of the Match: "The way Rahul and Mayank batted, we thought we needed to so something really special to come back into the game. With Sunny and Varun there, and Prasidh bowling the way he has done in his first game... McCullum has been encouraging me to bat higher in the order, but I am looking at what the team needs. I have to give him credit for keeping me in this space. Whenever Russell gets injured, you know it is hard. He is a very special player, he is a very special person. We need to go and look at him. Prasidh is special. The way he came back and bowled in the second spell shows how good he is. Sunil Narine stands up for us a lot of time. He is calm. He is always looking to find the best way to contribute to the team. Not only Sunil, a lot of credit needs to be given to Morgan and McCullum. I am very lucky to have the world's best captain by results in my side."
Sunil Narine: When the last ball went up in the air, I thought I was going to bowl full and wide, I bowled full and wide, but then I thought I had made a mistake. It is not ideal [for me to bowling at the death] but someone has to do that. I am used to doing it in the past. Inside the pulse is racing, but this calm is just how I am.
KL Rahul: I have no answers. We just need to keep coming harder in the next seven games. We bowled really really well. This was a fresh strip so we didn't know what were good lines and lengths. And the bowlers adjusted really well. And they were brave at the death too. Don't think we were satisfied at any stage in the chase. You are satisfied only when you win the game. Towards the end, we kept losing wickets, and couldn't get us over the line.
The game-changing innings came from the blade of skipper Dinesh Karthik. It was the perfect situation for Karthik and he didn't disappoint. He smashed a sensational 22 balls half-century which eventually propelled KKR to a score in excess of 160. The anchor role was played by Shubhman Gill to perfection. In the end, Karthik's innings proved to be vital.
Earlier in the day it was Dinesh Karthik who won the toss and opted to bat. KKR got off to the worst possible start losing Rahul Tripathi pretty early. Nitish Rana was involved in a terrible mixup with Gill which cost him his wicket. Gill batted sensibly but wasn't finding the gaps consistently. Morgan looked patchy and was eventually dismissed by the U 19 star Ravi Bishnoi.
Prasidh Krishna's inclusion proved to be a master stroke as the pacer bowled brilliantly in the final overs and bagged the wicket of KL Rahul in the 19th over to put KXIP on the backfoot. In the end, it was Sunil Narine who did the job in the final of over. Maxwell smashed a boundary in the 3rd delivery and finished off with a boundary which fell agonisingly close of the boundary ropes, had it been a six, it would have been the 3rd super over of the tournament. Eventually, KKR won by 2 runs to register their 4th victory of the tournament.
It would have been a tricky chase for the Punjab based side especially on a pitch which were stopping and coming. However, the opening duo laid out a sensational platform with a century partnership and till the time the openers were there, KKR looked done and dusted and was never in the match. Rahul and Mayank literally tore the KKR bowlers apart. The 115 runs partnership for the opening wicket should have sealed the match for KXIP. However the KKR bowlers especially Sunil Narine in particular was the game changer with a sensational 18th over where he bagged the prized wicket of Nicholas Pooran.
So yet again KKR snatches victory from the jaws of defeat. What a comeback yet again from the two-time champions, I am lost for words how to sum this match up. KKR who never looked like winning during the 2nd part of the match almost pulled off something exceptional in the last 3 overs which eventually helped them win a thriller by two runs.

19.6 Sunil Narine to Glenn Maxwell
4 The umpire signals four and KKR have pulled out something crazy here, that was a very difficult decision but now they are checking, was a full delivery outside off, Maxwell thrashes it through the covers and can you believe its just milemetres ahead of the boundary,, its a game of small margins and this time it was KXIP who fell at the receiving end, KKR snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, sensational comeback to say the least, what a show, I am flabbergasted, Two matches back to back KKR pull off something extraordinary
19.5 Sunil Narine to Mandeep Singh
W What a piece of magic again from Narine, just back of a length, Mandeep sits on his knees, tries to slog sweep it down the leg side but the substitute fielder Chris Green does a great job in the deep midwicket region, crazy scenes here folks, who would have thought 15 minutes ago that KXIP will be requiring 7 of the final delivery
KKR have gone for the review but it looks nit will miss the leg stump by a fair margin, 3rd umpire asks for ball tracking, wickets missing, 3rd umpire asks onfield umpire to stay with his decision
19.4 Sunil Narine to Glenn Maxwell
LB1 again turning away from Maxwell, he goes for a hoik and it touches his thigh pads and they take a single
19.3 Sunil Narine to Glenn Maxwell
4 A very important boundary for KXIP, back of a length outside off, Maxwell reverse sweeps this towards the cover region and finds the boundary
19.2 Sunil Narine to Glenn Maxwell
0 excellent bowling from Narine, turning away from Maxwell, he goes for a heave but misses, a very important dot
19.1 to Glenn Maxwell
2 back of a length from Narine, Maxwell thumps it down the ground towards the long on fielder and takes a couple
