So, that is it from me, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator Mohak Arora. Join us tomorrow at 6.45 PM for the coverage of the match between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders
Meanwhile, David Warner was pretty happy at how Abhishek Sharma responded to the responsibility of bowling four overs. He was also elated with the team's death bowling. Warner said, "Unfortunately we had Mitch marsh injured, and we were trying to figure out how he we get some overs in. The young Abhishek bowled really well. We worked really hard on our death bowling, and today they were all fantastic. We pride ourselves on our running between the wickets. If we are not getting boundaries, we run hard."
Comments from the two skippers Shreyas Iyer first up: "I think we were happy with 160 to chase. It was a par score. They knew the pitch better than us. They outplayed us, credit to them. It was really surprising that it played two-paced in the second innings. We thought dew would play a massive role and the ball would come on well, but yeah we can't give excuses at this time. We didn't capitalise on the ground dimension and take doubles. We will make sure we do when we play here next." It is pretty surprising that Iyer and DC couldn't adjust once they knew that dew wasn't in play. It will be something they will want to correct next time.
Rashid eventually dismissed Dhawan to get a strong foothold in the match. The explosive duo of Pant and Shimron Hetmyer came up with some lusty blows but it was never enough as the Caribbean batsman was sent back to the pavilion by Bhuvneshwar Kumar before the partnership became a dangerous one. It all came down the battle between Rashid and Pant with the latter falling prey. Although Marcus Stoinis was still at the crease, the match seemed to be coming to a slow end especially with Bhuvneswar Kumar and Thangarau Natarajan, in particular, nailed some outstanding yorkers. Eventually, DC's inning spiralled to a 15-run loss
Truth be told, Delhi looked like they never ahead in the chase. Their inning got off to a slow start after Bhuvneshwar Kumar had Prithvi Shaw edging behind pretty early on in the piece. After that, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer built a sedate 40-run partnership before the latter played an ill-advised shot to get out off Rashid Khan's bowling. Post Iyer's wicket, both Dhawana and new man Rishabh Pant failed to keep the scorecard ticking as Rashid and Abhishek Sharma strangled Delhi with some tight line and lengths.
