So MI eases past KKR in the 5th match of the tournament. We had a great time bringing the live commentary and match updates for you. Till the next time, biding you adieu on the behalf of my co-commentator Mohak Arora and myself, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty. Good night folks.
Rohit Sharma | Winning captain | MoM: It was only two players from the 2014 squad. It was all about how we executed our plans today, we were in good positions and it was all about being ruthless. The wicket was good and dew was coming down. I back myself to play the pull shots and have practiced quite a bit. Pretty happy with the performance of my squad. All my shots were good (laughs), can't pick one. I haven't played a lot of cricket in the last six months time and was looking to spend some time in the middle; it didn't come out well in the first innings but glad to have done it tonight. We never knew that the IPL would happen in the UAE so we wanted a pace attack that was strong for the Wankhede. But the ball was seaming around for the first six overs over here as well. We haven't played much with Trent Boult and Pattinson, but it was good that we were on the same page. It takes a lot out of you to play in these conditions. Maybe I was a bit tired in the end and it was a lesson for us that one set batsmen needs to bat till the end. We've seen it in the past and that's what I tried to do.
Trent Boult: I wouldn't say I'm comfortable in these heat and conditions. It's a big challenge to bowl against the likes of Morgan and Russell but it's nice to come out on the winning side tonight. I have been bowling back in New Zealand and it's the winter there, that's been the biggest challenge but everyone is excited to have cricket around and I'm sure there will be a few crackers going ahead. New franchise for me this year, great bunch of guys, hopefully we can keep the winning ways
Dinesh Karthik | Losing captain: I think we had areas to do well in bat and ball. I think it was a pretty rusty day to be honest, I don't want to get too analytical about it but it's ok the boys realise where they could have done better. Couple of the guys - Cummins and Morgan - just finished their quarantine today, it is hard - playing in the heat and getting used to the conditions. Don't want to be too analytical, the boys put in a good effort. I haven't had the conversation about that (regarding tweaking the top order) with Baz, will let you know by the next game.
Earlier in the day it was the KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik who won the toss and put MI in. Despite losing an early wicket in the form of Quinton de Kock, Rohit Sharma looked in sublime touch from the outset and made a mockery of the KKR bowling. He smashed Pat Cummins for two exceptional sixes and his pull shot were going for monstrous sixes. Suryakumar Yadav chipped in with a vital 90 runs stand with the skipper. Saurabh Tiwary also looked in good touch during his brief stay. In the final stretch of the innings, KKR made a good comeback and with MI looking well set to score in excess of 200, restricting them to 195 was a pretty good job in the end.
Chasing 196 was always going to be a tough ask for the Knight Riders. They needed a brisk start to keep themselves in the chase but that was not the case. Two relatively early wickets pushed them in the backfoot and they were never really in the chase from there. Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana played well but their wickets totally put KKR in the backfoot. Morgan's lack of intent didn't help either and by the time Russell came in, it was a mountain too steep to climb for the KKR. Pat Cummins played a terrific cameo towards the fag end of the innings and smashed Jasprit Bumrah for 27 runs in the 18th over. He smashed 4 sixes and it was a sight pretty rare in cricket. Bumrah, Boult, Rahul Chahar and James Pattinson picked two wickets each with Pollard chipping in with one.
So Mumbai Indians kept their exceptional run against the Kolkata Knight Riders intact as they crushed KKR by 49 runs to get off the mark in the Dream11 IPL. It was an utterly dominating performance from the most successful team of the tournament. They looked in complete command from the outset and there was no looking back for them. With this victory, MI completes their 20th win against the Kolkata Knight Riders. What a stunning record.

Another comprehensive performance from MI to be honest. KKR was never in the chase. MI kept chipping away with the wickets and despite some onslaught in the middle overs, MI was way too hot to handle for KKR. Somehow MI tends to bring out their A game against KKR and its been the same case today. Rohit Sharma as I predicted ahead of the game might get a big knock and again my prediction comes true, a 49 runs win in a T20 clash is huge
19.6 Rahul Chahar to Shivam Mavi
W Steps out to a leg spinner, misses and gets stumped. End of the match as KKR misses the target by a half century of runs. Mumbai Indians have wrapped it up with their excellent fast bowling and Chahar's leg spin tricking the KKR batsmen. What do you make of this win Arya?
19.5 Rahul Chahar to Shivam Mavi
2 Pitched up, played in the cover region for a couple of runs. Match closing to a finish?
19.4 Rahul Chahar to Kuldeep Yadav
1 Pitched up, played down the ground for a single.
19.3 Rahul Chahar to Kuldeep Yadav
0 Kuldeep trying to be inventive! A try at a reverse sweep and doesn't even get bat to ball.
19.2 Rahul Chahar to Shivam Mavi
1 Pulls the length back and Mavi pulls it away for a single.
19.1 Rahul Chahar to Shivam Mavi
0 A stock delivery from Chahar as Mavi cuts it straight to point.

18.6 James Pattinson to Shivam Mavi
1 Another slower from Pattinson to finish the over, Mavi taps it down the ground towards the long on fielder and keeps the strike for the final over
18.5 James Pattinson to Shivam Mavi
0 Back of a length from Pattinson, Mavi moves away a bit and cuts it well but straight to the point fielder, another dot
18.4 James Pattinson to Shivam Mavi
0 Another dot, cutter from Pattinson again, back of a length outside off, Mavi taps it straight to the fielder, no run
18.3 James Pattinson to Shivam Mavi
0 Well bowled by Pattinson again, slower delivery banged in the surface, Mavi is way early into the shot and gets beaten
