Player Bio

Iram Javed is a right-handed batter, representing the Pakistan women’s cricket team. Javed made her international debut in 2013.

Born in Lahore, the wristy batswoman was a surprise call-up in the Pakistan squad for their tour of England in 2013. Pakistan played a T20I series against Ireland on that tour, and in the first game of the series, Javed made her Pakistan debut. She was not required to bat as Pakistan won that game by 10 wickets.

In the ODI leg of that series against Ireland, Javed made her much 50-over debut. She was instantly involved in the thick of the action, picking up 2 wickets and giving away just 16 runs as Pakistan won the game by 8 wickets under their kitty.

Post-2013, Javed was in and out of the side due to poor form and injury issues and has struggled to keep her place in the national side.

Her stock rose in a T20I match against South Africa in 2019. Chasing 138 on a tough batting track, Javed compiled a 45-ball 55 to overcome the Proteas and eventually chased down the target with two balls to spare.

The Punjab-based cricketer was named in the Pakistan squad for the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup.

An elegant batswoman and an occasional medium-pace bowler, Javed has all the talent in the world to be a successful cricketer for Pakistan. However, over the years she has failed to capitalize on opportunities that halted her career so far.
