Player Bio

Tayla Vlaeminck is an Australian cricketer, who plays as an all-rounder for Australian women and Victoria Women.

Ahead of the 2016/17 Women’s Big Bash League, Vlaeminck was signed by the Melbourne Renegades, but she did not get a chance to feature in any of the matches.

Prior to the 2017 Women’s National Cricket League season, she was roped in by Victorian Spirit, and in her debut match, Vlaeminck picked up 2 wickets for 34 runs in her 7 overs and was praised by everyone for her bowling display. A month later, she went on to play for the Cricket Australia XI against England.

Some impressive performances for Victoria earned her a place in the squad for the Under-19 tour to South Africa in 2018. The all-rounder looked sharp and took 5 for 32 against South Africa in Pretoria. In the series final, she again played a crucial role with the ball, registering 6 wickets for 27 runs to completely rattle the opposition.

In the very same year, Vlaeminck was included in the WT20I squad to play against New Zealand. However, she did not feature in the series. She got a chance to make her ODI debut against Pakistan Women, and the Victoria born picked up a solitary wicket in the match.

Vlaeminck was named in the Australian squad for the Women’s t20 World Cup in 2020. However, just before the tournament, she was ruled out of the tournament after suffering an injury to her right foot.

Vlaeminck is a talented player who has a long international career ahead of her. Over the past few years, she has suffered quite a few injuries, but now her main goal will be to solidify her place on the national side and make a name for herself across all three formats of the game.
