Player Bio

A right-handed wicket-keeper batsman, Chadwick Walton plays cricket for the West Indies cricket team.

The tidy keeper behind the stumps made his West Indies Test debut as a replacement for the series against Bangladesh in 2009, when most of the senior players went on a strike, owing to differences with the Windies cricket board.

Walton impressed on his Test debut, equalling the record of Ridley Jacobs for five dismissals in an innings against Bangladesh in Grenada.

Despite the fact that Walton was an excellent keeper behind the stumps, his batting form continued to dip after his Test debut.

In his debut ODI game against Pakistan in 2009, Walton performed poorly and was dismissed without even getting off the mark.

The senior players returned back to the squad and Walton was eventually axed from the squad.

The Jamaican born made his international comeback in 2014 against New Zealand. West Indies toured New Zealand for a T20I series, and Walton got a chance to cement his place in the shortest form of the game. However, his T20I debut was also less fruitful, as the right hander only managed to score 9 runs in the two T20I games that he played.

Walton has also played T20 cricket across the globe. He has been a part of the Caribbean Premier League, and is a part of the Karachi Kings squad in the Pakistan Super League.

Chandwick Walton had the opportunity to cement a place in the national side in the absence of the senior pros, but the wicket-keeper failed to grab the opportunity with both hands. His struggles against the pace bowling was particularly exploited by the opposition skipper.
