Bio
An exciting opening batsman, Ashen Randika is a professional Sri Lankan cricketer for the Sri Lankan Army. A late-bloomer in domestic cricket, Randika has made up for the lost time striking explosive centuries across each format over the past few years.
The 27-year old arrived at the domestic circuit in 2017 and made his first-class debut in February 2017. Playing for the star-studded Sri Lanka Army Sports Club, which plays home to top-flight cricketers such as Dinesh Chandimal, Seekkuge Prasanna, and Asela Gunaratne, Ashen Randika has cemented his spot in Army’s top order.
Randika came into prominence during his barnstorming 2018/19 summer, hitting his second first-class fifty and followed it up by breath-taking centuries in both List A and t20. Another remarkable season passed by in 2019/20 and he steadily grew in confidence. In August 2021, he was named in the SLC Blues side for the 2021 SLC Invitational League. A high-quality batter who is also a useful seamer, the Galle-born all-rounder recently signed with Bovey Tracey for their 2021 Devon League campaign.
