Player Bio

A young teenage sensation from Eastbourne, Oliver Carter is a professional English cricketer who plays for the Sussex second XI in the Championship.

The 19-year old made his first-class debut for the Sussex first-team debut against Glamorgan on July 4th, 2021, and immediately impressed the cricketing fraternity which saw the youngster being added to the Sussex Vitality Blast squad.

Oli scored a sensational 160 against Surrey in the Second XI Championship in May and has been serving as Phil Salt’s wicketkeeping understudy in the Vitality Blast. After his exploits for the second string team of Sussex, the youngster was handed a rookie contract for Sussex.

A calm, composed batsman, Oli has shown a lot of perseverance in the last few months, and his skills with both bat and gloves have improved. In recent times, he has shown the ability to play a finishing role in the shortest format as well.
