Player Bio

A genuine all-rounder, Ned Leonard (Edward Owen Leonard) is a professional English cricketer for Somerset County. A product of the Somerset Academy, Ned joined the Academy in the Autumn of 2017 and has featured for the second XI and Devon County on multiple occasions before making his debut for England at the U-19 level.

At the age of 18, the Middlesex-born all-rounder signed his first professional contract with Somerset in September 2020 for a tenure of two years. After his exploits with the second XI, he was added to the senior squad prior to the start of the 2021 Royal London Cup. He made his List A debut against Nottinghamshire on July 30th, 2021 which sadly ended in a no-result.

A useful lower-order batsman, Ned has played some rapid knocks for the second string team and would be hoping to replicate his performances for the senior team after being a fully-fledged member of the first team.
