Player Bio

Gwenan Mai Davies is a Welsh cricketer who currently plays for Warwickshire, Central Sparks and Birmingham Phoenix. She plays as a wicket-keeper and left-handed batter who occasionally bowls right-arm medium-fast.

Davies made her debut for Wales in a 2007 County Challenge Cup against Oxfordshire. She represented Wales for eight long seasons, before joining Somerset in 2015. In her first season in England, she was her side's second-leading run-scorer during the Women's County Championship.

Three years later, in 2018, Davies joined Warwickshire to become an integral part of the county. She was part of the side that won the 2019 Women's Twenty20 Cup and contributed highly as the team’s second-highest run-scorer with 200 runs at an average of 33.33.

The Wales-born also played the Kia Super League, as she represented Yorkshire Diamonds in 2018 and Surrey Stars in 2019. The next year, Central Sparks named her in the squad for the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. She was also one of the 41 female cricketers that had signed a full-time domestic contract with ECB, late in 2020.

Over the years, Davies has also been part of the England Development Programme and has played for Rubies in the 2013 Super Fours. In 2021, when ECB’s very own The Hundred got underway, the Wales-born donned Birmingham Phoenix’s jersey.
