Player Bio

Hailing from Karachi, Mohammad Umar is a young emerging pacer who plays professional cricket for Pakistan. Umar proved his capabilities in domestic cricket and made a place in the latest edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The fast bowler gave trials for the U-14 Pakistan team and played in every age group and eventually won the championship in the Pakistan U-18 team. Umar made his first-class debut for Karachi Whites in the 2018–19 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy on September 1, 2018 dismissing the veteran Salman Butt in the first over of his debut match.

While travelling back to the hotel after a match against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Umar got the news that he had been drafted to the Multan Sultan squad for the 2021 PSL. He made his debut against Islamabad United on February 21, 2021, and scalped the wicket of Phil Salt but was a touch expensive. After featuring in just one match, he was dropped from the squad due to his uneconomical bowling figures.

With the absence of top-flight foreign players due to international fixtures from the remainder of 2021 PSL, Umar might be in contention to open the bowling attack for the Sultans in UAE.
