In the very same year, he got selected in the squad of the Mumbai Ranji Trophy team, and on 19th September, he made his Ranji Trophy debut against Tamil-Nadu. On 19th September 2018, he made his List A debut for Mumbai in Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) against Baroda at Alur.

He picked up a five-wicket haul in the competition's quarter-final in his first season. In August 2019, he was selected for India 'B' side in Duleep Trophy. He continued his excellent performance in white-ball cricket in the domestic circuit. As a result, a couple of scouting teams in the Indian Premier League got their eye in on Tushar Deshpande.

In the auction for IPL 2020, Deshpande was picked up by Delhi Capitals (DC) at his base price. In that season, he played six games for the Delhi-based franchise and did manage to pick up three wickets, but that wasn't an excellent season for the young fast bowler.

In the mega auction for IPL 2022, Tushar Deshpande was picked up by the Chennai Super Kings(CSK) at the base price of INR 20 Lakhs.
