A right-handed middle-order batter, Macalister Wright has represented quite a number of teams in the Australian domestic circuit and the Big Bash League.
Having risen through the Tasmanian age-group cricket, Wright was slowly drafted in the main side and since then has worked immensely on his batting technique.

He made his first-class debut for Tasmania during the 2019-20 Sheffield Shield season. He had a poor outing in his debut game against Queensland and could only score 17 runs in the combined two innings.
Currently, he plays for Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League and looks to cement a permanent place in their squad.
