Madeline's Bio

A crafty leg-spinner, Madeline Penna is a professional Australian cricketer who plays for the Adelaide Strikers in the Women’s Big Bash League. In her debut season with the Melbourne Stars, she took 10 wickets as a replacement player and earned a contract from the Strikers in the sixth edition of the WBBL.

The 20-year old had the lowest bowling average for the Stars and the best individual performance of 4/20 in her 4 overs. After overcoming a knee condition osteochondritis dissecans, she has had since she was nine, the talented leggie made her debut for ACT Meteors against Meg Lanning’s Victoria at the tender age of 19.

The 21-year old is yet to make her debut at the international stages but has impressed heavily in Franchise cricket. In the final week of the WBBL tournament, she struck a blazing half-century against the Hurricanes, scoring 56 from 33 balls including 24 runs off a single over. An energetic asset on the pitch, Madeline would be hoping to make it big in the upcoming WBBL to earn a callup from the national side.
