Anuj Dal is an English professional cricket player who is of Indian descent. He is an emerging middle-order batter, also a right-arm bowler who operates at military pace. The all-rounder has been signed by Derbyshire CCC in 2019. Dal has also represented the England U-19 teams during his age-group days.
Born in Staffordshire, Dal is a product of the English age-group system who has come through the ranks for Northamptonshire Cricket County Club. However, in 2017, Dal parted ways with the club to sign a one year deal with Derbyshire. The all-rounder made it big when he debuted for Derbyshire during the T20 Blast of 2018. On debut, he scored a blistering 35 off 26 balls against Worcestershire Rapids. Later in the year, the allrounder was asked to make his first-class debut in Division Two of the Championship. The following year, Dal made his List-A debut during the domestic 50-over Cup.
In 2019, Dal signed a two-year contract with the Derby-based cricket club, which bids them at least till the end of 2021. Over the years, the all-rounder has upped his game, he is someone more of a batting all-rounder who chips with wickets when required the most, while his stroke play batting is better suited for the shorter formats.
