Player Bio

A young upcoming wicket-keeper batsman, Jamie Smith is a professional cricketer for Surrey County who first wore the club’s famous Three Feathers at the u-10 level and gradually made progress through the age groups.

The Whitgift-school alma-mater was a regular for the Surrey at the U-17 level and despite missing the second half of the 2017 campaign due to injury, the youngster caught the attention of the coaching staff for the second XI. He was called into the senior side when Ben Foakes and Ollie Pope were going to be unavailable for the pre-season tour.

Smith’s time with the County at the start of 2018 was disrupted by A level exams but once when it got over, Smith showed his capabilities with the second XI in the shortest format. The Epsom-born gloveman made his first-class debut against MCC all-star team on March 24th, 2019 and struck a fantastic century scoring 127 in the first innings.

In 2020, Smith cemented his spot for the Bob Willis Trophy and Vitality Blast teams but he would be hoping to reach new heights and get a break into the Championship side of Surrey in the upcoming years.
