Carly's Bio

An emerging all-rounder, Carly Leeson is a professional Australian cricketer for the Melbourne Renegades who recently penned down a one-year contract extension after a breakout season with the Reds. Playing for New South Wales in the domestic circuit, she enjoyed a stellar junior career with the state’s U-15 and U-18 side and was also a part of the Shooting Stars that toured Sri Lanka in 2015.

Born in Canberra, Leeson joined Sydney Sixers ahead of the 2016-17 Women’s Big Bash League season and featured in just one match against Renegades picking up 2 wickets for 11 runs on her debut. Two years later, she joined the Reds and stepped up during a tough season for the Renegades in the Sydney Hub, featuring in every game and finished as their leading wicket-taker with 11 scalps.

A fast bowler who has been long seen as a prodigy, the 22-year old has already showcased her match-winning abilities in the shortest format of the game and would be hoping to make a breakthrough in the national team in the upcoming years.
