Player Bio

Annie O’Neil is a right-hand batter and leg-spinner, who plays for the South Australian Scorpions and Adelaide Strikers. She is a former U-19 captain who gave her services to South Australia.

Born in Murray Bridge, in 1999, O’Neil’s local club is Sturt and has been a star performer for them since her childhood days. She has also helped the club clinch the Statewide Super First Grade title in 2018-19, with a quick-fire 29 in the final.

The Sturt-representee also blasted the biggest score in Sturt Cricket Club’s long history with an incredible unbeaten 242 in 2017. Later that year, she bagged her State debut for the South Australian Scorpions and has been a consistent batter for them, before gaining her first State contract in 2017-18.

In 2019-20, the allrounder bagged her maiden Strikers contract, for the WBBL|05. However, she got three games but didn’t bat or bowl that season. She played in one match for the Strikers in the 2020-21 WBBL season.

O’Neil would be waiting for her turn in the seventh edition of WBBL and will be hoping to bring her A-Game when the occasion arises.
