Player Bio

Toby Lester is an English professional cricket player who has played for Lancashire and was loaned to Warwickshire for the 2018 Championship season. Lester is a lanky left-arm medium-pacer who gained his First-Class experience for Loughborough MCC, before being contracted by Lancashire in 2015.

Having represented Lancashire at Under-17 and Under-19 levels, the southpaw made his First-Class debut for Loughborough in 2012. However, he made his First XI debut against Essex in 2015. He toured Australia in the pre-season in 2018 to play grade cricket for the North Sydney club.

The seamer didn’t become a regular for the club until 2018 where he scalped 15 T20 wickets as Lancashire went onto the semifinal. He played 13 Championship games and the same number of T20 games for Lancashire before the club announced they won’t extend Lester’s six-year contract after it expires in 2020.

Currently, the left-arm pacer isn’t contracted by any county but his ability to exact pace and bounce on any condition, that too his natural angle, makes Lester a rare commodity. The seamer just needs to sharpen his prowess and there would not be looking for him.
