Known by the pen name KoKo, Tryon started playing cricket at the tender age of 6 and is now a part of the national setup. She is known to be a good striker of the cricket ball and can move the cork both ways.

The 28-year-old made her T20 debut in 2010 against West Indies in Women’s World Twenty20 and claimed two wickets in her first over. She became the first cricketer to scalp in the first ball of her career in WT20I history.

Four years later, the 28-year-old made her ODI debut against England in October 2011, and In November 2014, Tyron made her Test debut against India.

In March 2018, she was one of fourteen players to be awarded a national contract by Cricket South Africa ahead of the 2018–19 season.

Five months later, she was named in South Africa's squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 tournament in West Indies. She played in her 50th WT20I for South Africa during the tournament group stage.

She plays for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Women's Big Bash League and has represented them in over 25 matches. In January 2020, she was named as the vice-captain of South Africa's squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

Tryon, along with Sune Luus, set the record for the highest ever 6th wicket partnership in the history of Women ODIs glueing 142 together.

She has been a consistent performer over the years for South Africa and in February 2022, she was named as the vice-captain of South Africa's team for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
