Bio
19-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, Tomas Mackintosh grew up in Spain and was not exposed to cricket until he moved to South Africa. Tomas is a Madrid-born wicketkeeper who idolises Quinton de Kock. Later, he relocated to Scotland to attend Merchiston. Because cricket can only be played competitively in Scotland during the summer term, Tom quickly became interested in other school sporting activities such as Rugby but felt most comfortable on the cricket field.
After impressing his year group teams for a couple of years, Tom was invited to the school's XI tour to Sri Lanka in April 2017 and has been a member of the wider Scotland performance team since the Sri Lanka trip. Tom has starred for the school XI and played senior cricket at Grange. He has represented Scots at various age-grade levels and has been accepted into the Durham Academy.
Mackintosh has been named in the Scotland squad for the ICC U-19 Men's Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean in 2022. He has scored 117 runs in five innings in that tournament.
