Tributes and messages flooded social media ever since MS Dhoni called time on his international career. Dhoni, arguably the finest white-ball captain for India, took to Instagram on Saturday to announce his retirement. A lengthy sabbatical from competitive cricket left little hopes of him making a comeback into the national fold. However, the 39-year-old will continue to play for the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

Dhoni is well-known for his temperament and simplicity, especially the way he conducts himself on the field and reacts to results. Ishank Jaggi, current Jharkhand cricketer, shed light on the manner in which Dhoni interacted and engaged with his teammates.

Dhoni had no qualms about his stardom. While he was with his Jharkhand teammates, the cricketer stayed with the team and traveled along as well. “There are no airs about him. He was always ready to help anyone out, and anyone had the freedom to go and speak to him about the game. After a stressful day he would come and tell us, "chalo, ab FIFA khelenge" (come, let's play the FIFA video game). And four of us [Dhoni, Jaggi, Ishan Kishan and Pratyush Singh] would go play.” Ishank told ESPN Cricinfo.

Dhoni is currently sweating it out at the nets in a one-week long training camp in Chennai.  Apart from the skipper, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Murali Vijay and some the other vital cogs of the franchise have hit the ground running in a bid to prepare ahead of the 13th edition of the IPL.
