Former cricketer Irfan Pathan has warned the Indian Premier League franchises to not underestimate Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Speaking on Star Sports' Cricket Connected Pathan said that Dhoni is 'going to go with full flow' and the bowlers need to be careful.
In a conversation with VVS Laxman and Jatin Sapru, Pathan said that Dhoni enjoys playing for CSK and that allows him to perform at his best.
Dhoni has been captaining Chennai Super Kings from the inaugural IPL and has won the competition thrice.
Returning back from a two-year ban, Dhoni led CSK to win their third title, and over time has made the franchise into a lethal combination of world-beaters.
CSK are currently holding camp in Chennai for their players to log in much-needed practice hours. The team is scheduled to fly out to the United Arab Emirates on August 21.
Irfan Pathan had earlier predicted that Dhoni would retire after playing the ICC T20 World Cup that was scheduled to be held in 2020. But with the pandemic halting te entire ICC FTP calendar, Dhoni decided to call it quits from international cricket on August 15, via an Instagram post.
IPL is scheduled to begin on 19 September and CSK along with Mumbai Indians will be firm favourites to win the trophy.
