Brisbane Heat release BBL's all-time top scorer, Chris Lynn, after 11 seasons
11 May 2022
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 70th and final league stage game of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Sunday (May 22nd) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
This game would be nothing but a dead rubber for both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings, who are already out of the playoffs race.
With 6 wins from 13 games, SRH is reeling at the eighth spot on the points table. The orange army will miss the services of their skipper Kane Williamson, who has returned to New Zealand for the birth of his second child. Either Bhuvaneshwar Kumar or Nicholas Pooran is expected to lead the Orange Army in the regular captain's absence.
On the other hand, the Mayank Agarwal-led side butchered all the pre-tournament expectations as they failed to make it to the playoffs despite having one of the most balanced squads this season. Like Hyderabad, Punjab Kings won 6 out of their 13 games and wrapped up at the seventh spot in the points table.
The outcome of this match won't change the fate of the teams. However, both sides would hope to end their tournament campaign on a winning note.

Pitch Report: The Wankhede Stadium has seen some low-scoring games in the last few days, and a similar sort of surface is expected on Sunday. The fast bowlers should get some help early in the initial hours. The spinners will come into play in the middle overs, with the pitch likely to slow down as the game progresses. Both teams will look to bowl first after winning the toss, with dew bound to have a say in the second half of the game.
