India’s world cup-wining captain MS Dhoni will not charge any money for his mentorship role of the Indian team during the upcoming T20 World Cup, BCCI’s secretary Jay Shah said.
Dhoni will stay back in the UAE after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League and will assist the team management in chalking tactics for the big event.
The top brass of the BCCI was eager to have Dhoni in the leadership setup as his experiences of playing in a lot of ICC tournaments can come in handy for Virat Kohli and his men.
Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket last year after playing his last game for the country way back in the semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup.
Dhoni is the only captain to have won ICC trophies in all formats and hence the BCCI and the team management were ecstatic at his acceptance of joining the team as a mentor.
