India’s middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer suffered subluxation on his left shoulder after he dived forcefully in the 8th over while fielding, the BCCI said updated on Twitter. The right-hander has been taken for scans and hence will not be taking any further part in the ongoing match in Pune.

Also, India’s opener Rohit Sharma was struck on his right elbow and felt some pain at the site of injury later on. The BCCI clarified that the injury was the reason Rohit did not take the field in the second innings of the game.

India set a target of 318 runs for England to chase down and get a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. In reply, England were off to a rollicking start by Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow before Indian pacers struck at regular intervals to bring the game back in balance.
